Level: Novice/Beginners to Intermediate No previous sewing experience is required. In the course you will be taught no less than 8 different patchwork techniques using both the hand and machine methods. You will learn from start to finish to complete a quilt. The course will teach you to design your own patterns and have a better understanding when reading patchwork and quilting books. BEGINNERS MACHINE QUILTING
Level: Beginners to Intermediate Lesson One Lesson Two Learn to use
your darning foot to free motion by dropping your feed dog TRUPUNTO QUILTING
Level: Intermediate to Advanced Learn to do this 3D raised work to create beautiful effects. A pre requisite of this course is that you need to know how to do free motion quilting. (see lesson Two of Basic machine quilting) TRUPUNTO QUILT using a AS YOU GO method
Level: Intermediate to Advanced A pre requisite of this course is that you are able to do free hand quilting (with feed dog dropped). You will learn to make a quilt using trupunto techniques and sewing in manageable panels. These will be joined at a later stage to make a quilt as small or as large as you want. JAPANESE FOLDED PATCHWORK
Level: Beginner to Advanced The popular square wrapped in a circle design look could not be made easier and quicker than by machine. This method can lead to many projects, some good examples are table runners, coasters, placemats, bags, kiddies Peek a Boo quilts…. As this project can be used as a quilt as you go, there is no joining of seams or bindings. Each block is completed and you can continue to add on at a later stage – making it a Quilt as you go. JAPANESE CIRCLES
Level: Beginner to Advanced This quilts character lies in the rich use of the Asian fabrics. Using a number of layouts it can be made to various sizes and on the straight or diagonal. STAINGLASS QUILT
Level: Beginners to Intermediate Learn to make a stainglass window using q quick fusible method. Have fun in experimenting with your own window design. This is a fun way to make anything from a bag to a wall hanging to a quilt. Ruler magic in making a DIAMOND FOUR PATCH QUILT
Level: Beginners to Advanced Learn how to make this simple yet lovely quilts consisting of 60 degree and 30 degree diamonds. Learn how to match diamond seams from pre cut strip sets. Cut 60 degree diamonds, equilateral diamonds and long half diamonds. All this is done with your standard rotary ruler. REVERSIBLE QUILT AS YOU GO TECHNIQUE
Level: Beginners to Advanced Learn to patchwork and quilt as you go using strips of fabric. Learn to put on two different coloured sashings of either side of the quilted blocks - eliminating the bulk of a standard quilt been forced through your machine.
